Girls on the Run/GOTR

Girls on the Run is a 2-day per week commitment (Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:15). Students are taught life skills through fun, engaging lessons that celebrate the joy of movement. The 20-lesson curriculum is taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches and includes three parts: understanding ourselves, valuing relationships and teamwork and understanding how we connect with and shape the world at large. At each season's conclusion, the girls and their running buddies complete a 5k running event in December. Over the course of the program, girls will develop and improve competence, feel confidence in who they are, develop strength of character, respond to others and oneself with care and compassion, create positive connections with peers and adults, and make a meaningful contribution to community and society.   

VERY IMPORTANT: All families will need to register on the Girls on the Run Website , gotrnyc.org/register. GOTR charges $350 for each participant - this amount is included in your afterschool bill. DO NOT PAY Girls on the Run directly. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, you must let us know as soon as possible.   If not, we will assume that you can pay the full $350 program fee.  We will notify you when the GOTR registration is open.  

The official GOTR program will end in December after the 5K.  All girls registered for GOTR on Tuesdays & Thursdays can remain in afterschool for the remaining weeks of the semester at no additional cost.
