Spark your child’s mobility and curiosity with our Creative Yoga & Movement class! Taught by Iren Kamyshev, an internationally experienced teacher, choreographer, and certified yoga instructor. This class combines learning fun yoga poses with imaginative play. Kids will use props and their creativity to design unique dance routines for our school performances. They’ll enhance flexibility, balance, and self-expression—all while having a great time. Join us and watch your child's creativity and confidence shine!

In Drawing & Painting Class, students will spend the first half of the semester exploring lots of materials—oil pastels, jumbo color pencils, watercolor, tempera paint, sumi ink, and more. In the second half of the semester, students get to choose their favorite materials and improve their skills. Student interests (like favorite animals) influence lessons. Each class concludes with an opportunity for students to share their work, communicate admiration, and be recognized for their amazing pictures.

Structured and unstructured time to play a variety of sports and games - both physical and non-physical (cards, board games, brain games.). The focus will be on team sports and games that foster cooperation, competition, following rules, being a team player and a good sport.

Established in 2008, EzraGuitar is a guitar program designed to give kids the opportunity to study with some of the greatest classical guitarists of this generation, while using a method of learning designed especially for them. Our group classes are the core of the EzraGuitar method. These classes are built on the philosophy of Maoz Ezra, that music should be taught in the "language of children" and tailored to their natural abilities. By studying with this method and philosophy, it is our goal that children will connect to music making in a natural and organic way. Through creative games and ensemble work, children will leave each lesson with a sense of accomplishment and musical knowledge that will remain with them as a foundation for any future musical endeavors. EzraGuitar Kids Group Guitar Lessons (Grades K-5) We teach small group lessons for children in grades K- 5 (*kids are grouped according to age & level, the course is cumulative.) Melody & Rhythm: through a mix of repertoire including, classical, folk, children’s songs, rock, jazz, contemporary and original compositions, students will learn to play music, not only exercises. Reading music: Through our unique method children will learn to recognize, know and master the notes in a range of four octaves. Ensemble work: From the beginning children will be learning to play in an ensemble. This group work puts emphasis on listening with sensitivity and working together. Performance: At the end of each session, students will perform in a concert. Performance is a major part of studying music, it teaches the student about building self confidence and the joy of sharing music. Teachers: Classes are taught by the world class faculty of EzraGuitar! *Please note that students will be scheduled by EzraGuitar into class times that are appropriate for their age and level. Classes are 40 min long. When not in class with EzraGuitar, children will be in the care of the wonderful PS 11 After School program both before and after their guitar lessons. We offer unique return policies and upgrade services and starter kit packages special for our students. Students will take part in another activity either before or after their lesson. Dismissal from after school will be at 4:15.

In this high-energy after-school class, students start with a warm-up to prevent injury and get their bodies ready to move. They learn how to count music and understand rhythm, then break down hip-hop dance moves—sometimes traveling across the floor to build coordination. Then on to learning choreography to various songs, preparing for exciting performances! Each session ends with a freestyle session to utilize what moves were learnt and/or to find their own movement and just DANCE.

Kenwa kids empowers children with awareness, self-control, respect, focus and a comprehensive physical education in an atmosphere of enthusiasm and cooperation. The program was designed by Sensei Michelle Gay, CMA, RSME/T a 4th degree black belt, 2-time World Champion, Certified Movement Analyst, and author of Brain Breaks for the Classroom - published by Scholastic Teaching Resources.

For little ones, this is a great opportunity to learn and develop social skills.

Create beats, record vocals, arrange their own songs using digital tools.Students learn digital music making from scratch using song arrangement, basic music theory/structure, sampling, writing & recording This is a premium class, $40/week.

Artistic wonders can emerge from the contents of our recycling bins, not only reducing waste but also unlocking endless possibilities. Every item within the recycle bin holds potential, and our journey begins with material preparation followed by the creation of our imaginative projects.

Kids will create, write, direct, and star in their own rock n roll movie! Everything from the story, characters, props, costumes, animations and original score will be created by the kids, with help and guidance from veteran rock n roll teacher Mike Messer (leader of the world famous rock band for kids “THE DIRTY SOCK FUNTIME BAND.") Along with the encouraged silliness there is a strong focus on teamwork and confidence empowerment. The creation process is based upon the philosophy that “ALL ideas are good”, and gentle encouragement that anything that your child thinks up is worth giving a try. The other goal of the class is for everyone in class to have as much fun as we possibly can!

Two Hour session - 2:45-5:00. Open to students who have already taken Sewing with Elaine and have more advanced sewing skills. This class is for budding designers who want to put their previous skills into practice, in order to imagine and create one of a kind, handmade fashions! Students will increase their mastery of hand and machine sewing, learn the basics of garment construction, and learn to work with an array of materials and fashion techniques. Learn to use and create patterns, hem, and press as you bring your designs to life, and add buttons, lace, hardware, and bling to perfect your own unique wearable pieces!

An introduction to skateboarding and skateboarding safety, proper form and posture,turning,acceleration and stopping. Louie has been a professional skateboarder sponsored by numerous companies for the past 12 years. He has been teaching children and adults how to skateboard for over 15 years. Louie has taught at renowned private schools, and sports camps across the tri-state area. Students should have their own equipment - skateboards, helmets and pads. Equipment can be left in the afterschool office in the morning on the day of class. This is a premium class and costs $50 per week.
